Heathlands a step closer to protection

Despite being home to some of the most biologically diverse habitat in the world the Anglesea heathlands have for years been threatened by mining activities.

But with the closure of the Alcoa mine and power station on 31 August 2015, and an election commitment from the Andrews Government, comes the chance to protect these heathlands as part of the Great Otway National Park.
